Let's forget everything about all of these things, and think about the way that Sony forces you to fund your wallet instead of buying the game is simply unfair, and we do it because there no other option. If you wanna buy a new game through your PlayStation, you're wallet is gonna get hurt very bad.
On Psn,you wanna buy a game that costs $1.you can't buy it simply and pay $1 for it,that's would be too easy and too reasonable. You've got to fund you're wallet with $5 and then buy the game, and the extra $4 stays in you're wallet until you spend it on something you don't want.
A Fortune’s Worth of Abandoned PSN Accounts
You can't imagine how many wallets are sitting around, full of money, from people that don't use or even play on PlayStation consoles anymore? It's a complete scam, and Sony should stick here head on the dirt.
So,now you have $4 in you're wallet, and you wanna buy a game that costs $3,now only $1 left.after that, you find a game that you want for $2,you can't add another dollar and simply buy the game, you have to refund your wallet with another $5 and start over.
Nintendo and Microsoft had these problems before, but they solved it,Sony hasn't.
Why Does Sony Do This?
The problem here,if everyone started buying cheap DLC add-ons, with the transaction fees and paying the developers, it's possible that these sales cost Sony money, still, that's their problem ,not ours, it should be on them to find worthwhile bundles and upsells, the consumers are not responsible if they can't make money by selling their products.
Take a look at Steam, Microsoft, Nintendo… they’re all able to make it work.
Sony, get your shit together.
If you never buy things under $5, or you make frequent purchases on the PSN so this doesn’t really impact you, that’s great. It’s not so much about the $5 but just the principle of it. $5 is nothing to get outraged over, but $5 over and over again among millions of gamers is.
