A Modder tries to blackmail Microsoft with Halo Wars 2 gets banned

Blackmailing: it doesn't work on everyone. Like what happened with the KGB when they tried to blackmail the President of Indonesia with a secret sextape they had taken, he responded with asking for a copy of the tape to show his people back in his country the beautiful Russian women he had bedded.

When a guy called Gaecheat was able to put a bug in Microsoft servers and download an early version of the game,he released some parts of the soundtrack.

It's like kidnapping someone and send some of their body parts like ears and fingers to their family.

“Clearly trying to blackmail a billion-dollar corporation isn’t gonna happen” – Gamecheat

Rather than just gain a bit of notoriety, He made some stupid and foolish threats. He told Microsoft that he will leak the story of the game,and sell copies of the game if they didn't return his banned account.

“I don’t really understand what my Xbox One has to do with ripping files from a PC game but alright.” – Gamecheat

The best part is all this happened on PC and he didn't even had to log into one of his many accounts to put the bug that allowed him to download the game early,the response of Microsoft was to ban his accounts. Every.Single.One.

“Back when I first posted the leaks of the soundtrack I promised I wouldn’t leak any story related material. Then later one I posted that copyright strike and ask Microsoft if they wanted the story ruined. That could be threatening in hindsight but it did do a good job testing the waters.” – Gamecheat.

Short time later,he posted a long statement about how he doesn't understand why Microsoft banned his accounts, that turns into  a ‘po
or me’ as he talks about his losses and how unfair this is,but finally, he realized the me
ss he made. He was going to drop it after the ban that triggered everything, but started to rage after he counted the time and the money he wasted to get access to live,for games he could no longer play.
